Intentional Therapy

Real Change

When you've been holding it together for everyone else, therapy can be the place you don't have to

About David Myrick, LCSW

As a licensed therapist and author, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and motivated to make meaningful change. I’ve worked in college counseling, veteran services, and inpatient care, bringing a wide range of experience to each session. I earned my master’s degree at Tulane University and have been independently licensed since 2016, now practicing here in Southern California. You can send me a message using the contact form below or through the psychologytoday button. I'm able to see residents of California and Massachusetts

"Previously serving as an intake therapist at the VA, David has truly heard it all and receives everyone with non-judgment and compassion. If you're looking for someone to see your strengths (even when you don't), I highly recommend David!"

"David is an incredibly professional and compassionate provider. I would highly recommend him as a therapist for anyone looking to establish with a new provider."

Why Me?

(here's how colleagues describe my work)

"Guided by compassion and experience. He integrates unique experiences and clinical ideas turning them into an intervention that is most suitable for you and unique to your needs. A clinician that is truly here to empower you on your healing journey."

“David is not only compassionate but also highly skilled in his approach to therapy. He brings years of professional experience and a deep understanding of how to guide his clients through life's challenges.“

I work with gay and queer men to explore what’s beneath the surface, strengthen their sense of self, and find new ways of approaching life’s challenges with more clarity and self-respect. Together, we’ll work toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and actually worth living.

At times it can feel like you’re doing everything you can just to hold it together, managing work, relationships, and other people’s expectations on top of stress and self-doubt. When old patterns, shame, or anxiety start to take over, therapy can offer a steady place to pause, sort through what’s really going on, and reset.
